Obituary of Felix Grimes, Jr.
Felix Grimes Jr, known to his family as Dad, Pops, Granddaddy Felix, Uncle Jr. and Jr., was born in Nashville, Tennessee on September 28, 1939, to the late Mr. Felix Grimes Sr. and Mrs. Jessie Elizabeth Hughes Grimes, both who preceded him in death. Felix departed this life suddenly on July 18, 2023.
Felix was educated in the Davidson County School System and was a graduate of the illustrious Pearl High School, Class of 1957. Felix was married to the love of his life, Mrs. Patricia Ann “Pat” Baker Grimes for 57 years until her death. He loved and missed her dearly. He was also preceded in death by his brother, James Alford Grimes and sister, Eleanor Elizabeth Price.
Felix professed a hope in Christ at a young age and joined Clark Memorial United Methodist Church. He was raised in the church by his father and mother; he enjoyed attending and receiving the word of God.
Felix was a Sales Representative at Henry Schein Cooperation for many years until retirement. He was a dental equipment and medical supplies salesman to the Metro Nashville and surrounding county areas. During his tenure at Henry Schein, he received many awards and accolades for his outstanding sales performance.
Junior, as he was affectionally called, enjoyed cooking just like his father. He often created original dishes and took pride in his grilling skills; he could make a pretty good tasting steak. In his leisure time, he liked to read the newspaper, collect unique gadgets, and spend time in his game room. He enjoyed playing pool and watching sports with his sons and grandsons. Felix was a good son, husband, father neighbor and friend. He loved his family and would do anything for them. His quiet spirit, wittiness and gentle chuckle brought warmth to any room.
Felix leaves to cherish his precious memories, his loving children: one daughter, Felicia (Robert) Davis of Warren Ohio and three sons, Kevelin (Valerie) Grimes, Marvin Grimes, and Fernando Perez (Tangela) Grimes of Nashville Tennessee; Brothers: Leon (Pam) Grimes, Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Edward Grimes of Nashville Tennessee; Sisters: Lula (Ralph-deceased) Butler, Houston, Texas and Rebecca (Eugene-deceased) Dotson of Nashville Tennessee; many grandchildren and great grandchildren a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, friends devoted neighbor and special friends, Larry and Donna Powell.
Please keep the Grimes family in your thoughts and prayers.
