Obituary of Lamont K. Murray

Lamont Kennard Murray Sr. was born May 1, 1992, In Davidson County, Nashville, Tennessee, to Eddie Lamont Murray & Thea Jones.  He Departed this life on June 24, 2023.  Lamont was born with lots of energy. He turned to Football to release some of it. Despite having Asthma, he was an excellent Defensive Lineman. Lamont played for John Trotwood Moore Middle School (Matadors), and the Freshmen team of Hillsboro High School (Burros). He played until he was injured. He was educated in the Metro Nashville Public Schools District and is a graduate of Hillsboro Comprehensive High School.    

Lamont gave his life to Christ at a young age under the leadership of Reverend Curtis Goodwin Sr. He was a member of Watson Grove Baptist Church throughout his youth. He was currently a member of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church.  Lamont loved The Lord.

Lamont was the life of the party, laughing and bringing joy wherever He went.  He had a giving spirit and helped anyone he could, as He would say everyone is human.  We must help one another.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Thomas Jones; grandfather,  Xavier Green, and close friends Brian Amos Jr., James Parks, and Shaquille Corley.

Lamont leaves to cherish precious memories loving and devoted parents, Thea Jones and Eddie Lamont (Jacqueline) Murray;  children, Kennedi Murray (Shaquilla Buchanan), Lamont Murray Jr., Kensley Murray (Keyara Braden); step son, Ronnie Braden (Keyara Braden); devoted sister, Tiara Murray; brother, Jairus Golden, sister, JaKymberlie Barnes; devoted grandparents, Ellen Green, Bonnie Hatcher, and Willie Hatcher;  devoted aunts, Aletha (Joe) Grisby, Millicent Glenn, Carole Perkins, and Chiquita (Danny) Dunlap; devoted uncles, Keith Dixon, Kortland Hatcher, Shawn Murray, George (Shirley) Presley and Lamont (Claudia) Henry;  nieces, Brooklyn Murray, Morgan Golden, Jayda Barnes, Kylie Barnes. nephew, Jai’den Golden;. god mother, Tamiko Marable,  god brother, Gee Marable. god sister, Trinity Chisom;  devoted friends, Derrick Huey, Latre’ Berry, Brian Page, Denzel Harney, Tommy Griffin, Phillip Cunningham & Walter Barbee. A host of cousins, family and friends.
