
Obituary of Shirley J Talley
Shirley Jean Talley was born on April 29, 1942, in Miami, Florida to Roston and Lucia (Allen)Bullard. Shirley was raised in Winter Park, Florida and graduated from Hungerford High School in Eatonville, Florida in 1960. She received a Bachelor of arts degree from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia and a Master’s degree from Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tn.
She met her husband; Paul Talley Sr in Atlanta and they were married in 1966. They remained married for 57 years. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1967. She remained steadfast in her faith as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses until her death. She was a teacher for a brief time at Hungerford High School in Eatonville, FL. She enjoyed reading, being with her family, completing crossword puzzles, helping others, and talking to others about her faith.
She often talked about her hope in the resurrection. Her faith and devotion were evident to all who knew her. Shirley was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and a loyal friend to many in the Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She is survived by her husband, Dr Paul A Talley, Sr, her son, Paul A Talley, Jr., daughter, Angie Talley, granddaughter, Alexia Brown (Michael Brown), relatives, friends, spiritual brothers, and sisters.
“With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and
he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. And
he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning, nor
outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:3-4
