Obituary of Barbara Jean Gordon

Barbara Jean Gordon was born in Nashville, TN on November 11, 1937 to Hannah Mae Whatley Gross. She was the youngest of three children. Her mom, Hannah, brothers, Leonard E Gross and John Gross and her daughter, Diane Louise Gordon, preceded her in death.

Barbara grew up and attended school in Nashville, TN which she was so fond of. As a child Barbara, loved school, baking, helping people.

In 1955 Barbara moved to Chicago, IL where she competed the last two years of high school, at Englewood High School. Upon completing high school, she met and married Manford Gordon. To this union three daughters were born: Manfojean, Diane, and Sherry 

During her time in Chicago, Barbara would bake cakes, and worked as a Barber, a job she was very fond of. In 1963 Barbara moved back to Nashville, TN but kept in touch with her girls, and two special family friends, Willie Mae Smith, and Maddie Caldwell, until their passing.  

Barbara Gordon leaves to mourn her two daughters: Manfojean Gordon Rucker (Donald Sr.) and Sherry Ulinda Gordon (Gaston); a Niece, Valarie Gross; three Nephews, Granddaughters, Grandsons, Great-granddaughter's, and Great-grandson's.  

Although Barbara loved all her family, she had two Granddaughters and a Great Grandson she was especially fond of as they always put a smile on her face. Lauretta Moore who lives in Alabama and Rachel Rucker, living in Florida. Her Great-Grandson Daysean, whom she loved his smile.
