My sincere condolences to the Thomas family on the passing of their beloved wife and mother. I worked with Donna for many years at Tennessee State University and knew her to be a beloved teacher, a supportive colleague, an ever-welcoming presence in the Reading Center, and a strong supporter of her alma mater. She truly knew the art of collaboration; she was willing to participate in all activities to support the unit, eagerly contributing ideas that were educationally sound and student-centered. She was very detailed and insightful, a joy to work with through the years. We had not seen each other much since retirement, but our last meeting (a chance encounter while grocery shopping) was marked by her usual enthusiastic greeting and smile. For all who knew her, Donna will be truly missed. We are all fortunate to have known her.
