There are very few people in life that you meet in a season that affect your life in ONLY a positive way. In a way that as life takes you to another locale and into another season, you see and hear that person still every day even as life becomes so busy and hectic that you haven't talked to or seen that person in years beyond years. Rev was one of those people in my life. We met in a season many seasons ago. Rev came into my Masonic Lodge under my education of his class. There was an instant connection - athlete, fellow Fiskite, and someone that had and shared freely with me fatherly wisdom on a spiritual and black man level. Rev, married me and my wife in our beloved Fisk Memorial Chapel nearly 24 years ago and soon after we were whisked off into a hectic life in another locale. Yet after season after season has changed - I am quick to invoke him in conversations with my wife with "Reverend Henry said" so much so, that I'm told "he didn't say that". I will miss my brother, my fellow Fiskite, and the man that joined me and my wife together.
To Sister Mrs. Frankie and my brother LaMont, me and Vanessa offer our deepest sympathies, pray for your comfort, and thank you for sharing Rev with us.

To this beautiful family I send my condolences and my love. To have meet The Rev. Dr. James Henry was a delight. I met him when my teenage son came home saying he was going to be baptized by Rev. Henry. Some years later he preformed my wedding ceremony on Valentine's Day. He also married my son. He was just that kind of a person. My family love you First Lady Frankie Henry. Sadden to hear of the transition of pastor Henry a teacher, motivator, encourager and pastor as a deacon he would invite me to the dais for mostly reserved for Ministers: why do not know. First off I'd like to say we are so sorry to hear of Rev. Henry's passing. He was a very good man I remember when I was a little boy I used to go to his church every Sunday and when my mother Sylvia Hatchett Newman was incarcerated he would go out to the prison to see her and help in any way he could. He was loved by many and will be truly missed but know that he is in a better place and he served his purpose here on Earth preaching the word of God and helping save Souls for the Lord Jesus Christ may the Lord God be with you and your family through this difficult time from the Hatchett Family.
