Survived by devoted wife of 54 years, Ruby Jean Battle Smith; three children, Emilie Miller, Atty. Joy Smith Kimbrough, and Thomas H. (Barbara) Smith III; twelve grandchildren, Morgan, Michael Jr., Jordan (Anthoneshia) and Thomas Earl Miller, James Wilson, Jr., Jasmine Moseley (Thomas) Mead and Jewel Moseley, Jessica and Justin (Wendy) Haley, Alexandria and Thomas Smith IV, and Danielle Whittaker; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Caroline Tillery; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Family visitation Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 11 a.m. - 12 Noon, with funeral to follow at Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church, 6245 Mount Pisgah Rd. Rev. Roland E. Long, Pastor and Rev.
