Quincy Carmell Atkinson was born June 2, 1972 in Chicago, Illinois to Karen and the late Terrence L. Atkinson. At 9 months of age he would meet and join in a dedicated, respectful, loving and bonding relationship Mr. John Wells his Dad, Best Friend, and Confidant.

Quincy was a “Fortune Baby,” a child born to parent who practice Nichiren Daishonin Buddhism with the SGI in Buddhism. Having a special Mission in Life to exemplify how to love and respect others no matter
life circumstances. As a young man, he was an active member of the SGI-USA, where he participated in Junior Pioneer and young Men’s Division learning how to read music and play trumpet. Further, being active with the SGI-USA Nashville Chapter, Inglewood District Men’s Division. He recently went to the Florida Natural & Cultural Center (FNCC), where he gave a wonderful life transforming experience which appeared in the World Tribune Publication.

Quincy began his education at the L. H. Day School, attending and graduating from Mahalia Jackson Elementary School, Chicago Vocation High school. Continuing his education at Shaw University in Raleigh Durham, North Carolina then transferring to Tennessee State University (TSU) of Nashville, Tennessee. At TSU, this is where he exercised his life mission joining with the “Aristocrat of Bands,” meeting many friends. He became a Prince Hall Mason in Chicago, and in Nashville he affiliated himself with the Prince Hall Logde #1. Quincy was employed with Fresenius Medical care as and Information Technology Specialist, where he was tremendously loved and respected.

Quincy loved the Arts, he spear headed the 1st CVS Band Reunion in 2007. Actively, participating and volunteering his time to the “Aristocrat of Bands” Summer Band Camp. In his words “he wanted to BE THERE to help where
ever needed,” true TSU love and devotion. Quincy leaves to treasure his memories loving Mom and Dad, Karen and John Wells, close friend Valorie Palmer and her daughter Reagan. Six siblings: Terrence Williamson of Chicago, IL, Quintez Bozel of Battle Creek, MI,
