Percy Thomas, Sr., a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2024, at the age of 89. Born on May 19, 1935, in Cohay, Mississippi, Percy was the cherished son of Clarence and Angie Thomas.
Percy proudly served his country with honor and distinction in the United States both in his military career and in his devotion to his family.
Percy Sr. was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Angie Thomas, his faithful wife Murriel Faye Thomas, one son (Kenneth Thomas), eight siblings, one granddaughter (Natalie Thomas), one grandson (Corey Johnson) and one great grandson (Bryceson A Page), great granddaughter (Asharia Bell).
Percy is survived by his daughters, Pamela Campbel (DeLoran); Patricia A Page; his sons, Percy Thomas, Jr. (Denise); Reginald Thomas; his sister/niece, Shelia Stewart; his devoted sister by love, Shirley Webb host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren; and great grandchildren. He was a source of strength and wisdom for the family, always offering a listening ear and a generous heart.
A man of integrity and kindness, Percy will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his strong sense of duty, and his warm smile that could light up any room. He was a avid golfer and jokester. His legacy of love, service, and dedication will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Percy's memory to The American Heart Society or to the Clevland Street MBC Scholarship fund. Percy Thomas, Sr. will be deeply missed, but his memory will be cherished forever.
