Paul Cornell Woodard was born on March 21, 1959 to the late Benjamin Lewis and Janell Gray Woodard in Nashville, Tennessee. He was the youngest and only son of their four children. He departed this life on July 2, 2016.
Paul accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized at Greater St. Jolm Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of his uncle, the late Rev. Dr. Frank Mason Spence and his then associate minister, Rev. Herbert T. Brown. And, as he often confessed, Paul's last words were, "I love you God and I have for all my life."
Paul attended the public schools in Nashville, Tennessee, including Hill wood High School. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps during 197 6 and received an honorable discharge later that year. Following his military service, Paul obtained his Certificate of High School Equivalence from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Skilled at all things electrical, mechanical, and carpentry related, the early phases of his career involved his employment at Cable Vision in Kansas City, Missouri and Metro Water Services in Nashville, Tennessee. Possessing an innate entrepreneurial spirit, Paul ultimately founded HadTech Services, the restaurant equipment servicing business he has led as CEO for over ten years.
Paul was a stranger to no one and well known for his charming personality and ice-breaking sense of humor. He was a bridge to repair cracks in relationships as he was known to bring family and friends back together. He was a loving, affectionate, spontaneous, and fearless man. He never minced words, took all things in stride and put everyone in the room at ease and in a better mood.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father. He leaves to cherish his memory his fiancee, Merry Adriana Williams; two daughters, LaKea M. Woodard and Sharze C. Woodard; two sons, Johnathan Speed of Kansas City, Missouri and Paul Clay; two stepsons, Kahvawn Ganaway and Keyano Williams; one stepdaughter, Jessica Arnold; three granddaughters, Kariah and Kayla Woodard and Kayiah Moore; three grandsons, Ronald Scott, Jr., Caleb Moore and Jumarion Woodard; three sisters, Doris E. Brown of Kansas City, Missouri, Celestine A. Woodard, and Lois C. Woodard McClain; two aunts, Willie Hamilton and Colleen Goodwin, both of Lewisburg, TN; three nieces, LaDonna M. Curtis, Alethea D. Gray of Kansas City, Missouri, and Tera T. Hambrick; one nephew, Billy D. Brown, III of Kansas City, Missouri; three great-nieces, Equailla Curtis, Courtney Janell Gray, and D'nele Brown; three great-nephews, Demonthan Harris, DeShaun Brown, and Demell Brown; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
