Myrna Faye Foster departed this world on May 12, 2016 in Fairfax, Virginia, where she had lived and worked for 26 years. Myrna was born on April 24, 1962 in Malden, Massachusetts. As a child, she was bright, curious and energetic. She had a wonderful disposition and made friends easily. At the age of ten, she professed her love for Christ and was baptized in the Greater Saint Mark Baptist Church in Tuskegee, Alabama. In 1973, her family moved to Nashville, Tennessee and quickly established their church affiliation at First Baptist Church Capitol Hill. Myrna graduated from University School of Nashville in 1980. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Spelman College, Atlanta, Georgia; her Master of Science degree from Tennessee State University, Nashville, Tennessee; and her teacher’s certification from Trevecca Nazerene University, also in Nashville, Tennessee.
In 1989, she accepted a position as an 8th grade science teacher at the Cooper Middle School in McLean, Virginia, where she resided until her passing.
