Mrs. Thelma L. Horton

August 30, 1934 — March 6, 2025

THELMA LOUISE HORTON, a beloved native of Nashville, TN, was born on August 30, 1934, to the late Mr. Clarence Fisher and Mrs. Louvenia Fisher. She was one of eighteen (18) siblings in a close-knit family filled with love and unity.

Thelma met the love of her life, the late Bobbie Lee Horton, Jr. from Athens, Alabama. They were married for 41 years.

On March 6, 2025, Thelma transitioned to her eternal home, free from pain, entering a life of peace and everlasting joy.

Thelma was a proud student of the Nashville Davidson County School System.Thelma, a woman of faith, professed her hope and love in Christ and was baptized at Pilgrim Emanuel Baptist Church, 1952, under the late Pastor Bown. She began fellowshipping with Jackson Street Missionary Baptist Church until her health declined. Her faith was a source of strength and guidance throughout her life.

Mother Horton’s legacy is one of love, faith and devotion to her family and community. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

JoAnne Horton Harris (Raymond), Patricia L. Starnes (Nathaniel), Rev. Dr. Janet L. Seay (James), Angela M. Webb (Charles), Evangelist Terrie L. Nelson (Cecil), Mr. Vincent L. Horton; Grandchildren, Yolanda Seay (Tyrone), Lovenia Starnes (Scott), Stephanie Robertson, Nathaniel Starnes (Keisha), John Stewart (deceased), LaTonya Seay, Robert Bradford (Kim), Nolan Starnes (Kelly), Sharicka Seay (Tony), Charles Webb, Keith Webb (Joy), Brittany Stewart, Cicily Nelson, Antionette Webb, Marilynn Webb, Moriah Nelson; and a host of great grands, Great Great grands, Good friend Pam Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
