STRAYHORN, Milton Phillip Of McKenzie, TN. March 5, 1919 - June 20, 2012 at Alive Hospice following a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Louella J. Strayhorn; parents, Goldie E. Strayhorn and Nina Hale Strayhorn; brother, Luther W. Strayhorn; sisters, Elnora Strayhorn, Victoria Pulliam, Julia Russelle Glenn and Earlie Mae Pate. He is survived by a devoted son and daughter, Phillip M. Strayhorn, West Covina, CA and Donnetta (Dr. George) Butler, Sr., Nashville, TN; grandsons, George E. Butler, Jr., Augusta, GA, Stephen Sean (Lamona) Butler, Nashville, TN; granddaughters, Camille Strayhorn and Kristen Strayhorn, Carson, CA, and Kisha Pollard, Atlanta, GA; great-grandson, Charles and great-granddaughters, Cassidy and Hayley; brother-in-law, Odell Pate; nephews, Samuel Carter, Ray Woods, Dr. James (Yvonne) Pate, Russell (Donna) Pate, Gary (Sharon) Strayhorn, Kenneth Strayhorn, Bernard (Brandy) Strayhorn; nieces, Deborah Price, Ernestine Woods, Rev. Elizabeth Shaw, Cynthia (Marshall) Cole, Cynthia Carter, Daphne McKnight, Jennifer Donnigan; numerous grandnephews, grandnieces, and many other devoted relatives and friends. Public viewing Sunday, June 24, 2012 from 2:30 p.m. - 5 p.m., Lewis and Wright Funeral Directors, 2500 Clarksville Highway. Visitation with the family Monday, June 25, 2012 from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m., Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church, 1203 9th Avenue North, with funeral services to follow, with Reverend Dr. William F. Buchanan, Pastor and Officiant. Interment Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 10 a.m., Middle TN Veterans Cemetery, Pegram, TN.
