Mary Lexine Rucker, "Mr. Jesse & Ms. Otha Rucker's" baby girl better known as “Sissy". Born June 29, 1954. " Sissy’s formal education began at Wharton Elementary School, Metro Nashville Education System. While at Wharton, one of her teachers noticed that she had an interest and talent in playing musical instruments and encouraged her to pursue her interest. She studied for several years under Professor Lusk at TSU's music department. "Sissy" was a graduate of North Nashville High School. She attended TSU and majored in a Health Science Program. "Sissy" worked as a laboratory technician and phlebotomist at Bordeaux Hospital where she retired after 25 years. "Sissy” embarked on a second career at Centennial Health Group that lasted about 12 years
She was proceeded in death by parents, Jesse and Otha Rucker; brother, Jesse Rucker Jr.; sister, Estella Clements; sister-in-law, Wilma Hunter Rucker.
Her memory will continuously be treasured by her loving and devoted daughter, Tomeka Rucker; sister, Dorothy Rucker; brother, Richard Rucker Sr; sister-in-law Debra Rucker; nephews, Monye Rucker, Jasper Russell, and Richard Rucker Jr.; Great niece Ky Rucker and great nephew, Christion Rucker; dear friends, Melanie Robinson, Zenobia Rodgers, Marcia Jordan, Barbara Watson, Shirley Clark, Sandra Scruggs, Michelle Brown, Tina Clemmons; loving families, the Hathaways, Tillmans, Barco-Wilsons, Holberts, Williams and especially families in the Jewish Graveyard and Cass Street area.
