Linda Ann Phillips Jones, 71, passed away on May 6, 2017 at her home surrounded by family in Madison, Tennessee. Born in Russellville, Alabama on September 24, 1945, she was the daughter of William Floyd Phillips and Sallie Ann Mullins and the 11th of 16 siblings. Linda is survived by her husband of 31 years, Bobby Ray Jones, and her children: Jeffrey (Carol) Abernathy, Sr.; Frank Gregory (Benita) Abernathy; Alesia Ann Abernathy and Eural Jones; 8 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Linda is also survived by 5 sisters, Mary E. Davidson, Ruby Joyce Box, Rita F. Phillips, Almetta (William) Bonds, Arnita (Maurice) Pope and her brother, Thomas J. Phillips (Yvonne) and special niece Robbie Wynn (Millard) and granddaughter Tanika Robinson and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Linda was a very devout member of the Bakers Chapel CME Church in Goodlettsville, TN for almost 50 years. She was an employee with the Metropolitan Development and Housing Authority (MDHA) for 23years before she retired in June 2006. Linda was a very kind and generous soul with a spirit that made everyone she encountered feel special. She genuinely placed the concerns of others before her own with a smile that was as unassuming as it was infectious. She especially loved being around and caring for her lovely grandchildren. 

Linda built a legacy of close friendships. Her personal character, caring, understanding and strength will be a continued inspiration for all who knew her. 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2016 at noon at Baker's Chapel CME Church, 206 New Brick Church Pike, Goodlettsville, Tennessee 37072. Reverend Woodrow Harris, Jr., eulogist. Visitation at the church will take place prior to the funeral service at 11:00 am CDT. 

A private burial service will be held at the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Bellevue, TN.
