Herbert Myers, Jr.

December 15, 1956 — December 3, 2020

Herbert Hoover Myers Jr. “Boochie” was born December 15, 1956 in Nashville, Tennessee to Barbra Boleyjack and the late Herbert Myers Sr.

Herbert was educated in the Nashville Davison County Public School System, graduating from North High School Class of 1974. Herbert attended Tennessee State University and received his B.S. of Science in Criminal Justice in 1978. He was employed with the State of Tennessee Department of Corrections for over 20 years and later retired with DELL CEVA Logistics after 15 years of service.

Herbert accepted Christ in his life at an early age, he believed that Christ died for his sins and rose again.

Herbert enjoyed all sports, music, traveling, and always cleaning up his automobiles. He was a person who always adored his family and friends.

He was joined in Holy Matrimony to Amanda Ransom, and this union was blessed with one son Herbert Myers III.

Herbert is proceeded in death by his father Herbert Myers Sr. and brothers Emmitt Eugene Childress Sr. and Wesley Alvin Goodwin “Butch” Jr.

Herbert leaves to cherish his memory: loving and devoted son Herbert “Poonie” Myers III, loving daughter Mistie Roberts, loving mother Barbra Boleyjack, loving and devoted sisters; Shelia Kennedy, Patricia Hutchinson (Tennies), and Sandra Moore; loving brothers; Charles Childress and Haston “Stefon” Myers (Rita). Sister-in-laws; Carol Juanita Lee Childress, 2 grandchildren, Devoted cousin Norma Jean Spann and family of Pontiac Michigan, A host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. Devoted Friends; William Moore, Kenneth Neal, Hubert Deaderick, Lonnell Matthews, and James Owens.


Public Walk Through will be held Wednesday, December 16, 2020 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Lewis & Wright Funeral Directors.

Graveside service will be held Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Greenwood North Cemetery.
