Glorideen “Gloria” Elizabeth McCullough Turner was born April 12, 1935 in Nashville, TN to the late Thomas A. McCullough and Elizabeth McCullough Eldridge. She entered into eternal life August 12, 2020. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Orlando Turner, Sr. and brother, Thomas R. McCullough. Glorideen married the love of her life Orlando Turner, Sr., July 25, 1954. From this union they were blessed with three loving children. Glorideen loved the Lord. She accepted Christ at early age at Gordon Memorial United Methodist Church and later united with First Baptist Church South Inglewood. Gloria had a heart of gold she loved children and people. She was known for giving hugs and kisses her favorite sayings were “have I kissed you today”, “come here baby”, “precious” ,”honey”, “baby”, and “sweetie”. She was an active member at FBSI where she enjoyed being a member of the Matrons, Pastors Aide, Bus Ministry, Sunday school teacher and Superintendent of Sunday School. Everyone loved Mrs. Turner!! Glorideen was graduate Pearl High School and attended Tennessee A & I University (Tennessee State University). She was supervisor at State of Tennessee Department of Revenue for several years. She had many talents one of her favorite being a beautician and passion for cooking. Gloria loved her social club Les Jeune Bonnes Amies, where she was member for many years. Glorideen had a strong faith always trusting in God. She cherished and adored her family. She had a loving spirit and a charismatic way of making everyone feel like family.
Glorideen is survived by loving and devoted children; Landras (Ira) Turner Lacy Jr., Adrienne (Rudolph) Moore, Orlando (Kimberly) Turner II; grandchildren, La’Shay , Le’Trese , Orlando (Jamie) III, Sean, Ira Lacy III, Anya (Jarvas); great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Legacie, Brycen, Ava, Olivia, Kensley and Londyn; sister, Marcella McCullough, sisters-in-law, Archeline Jackson, Arlean Turner; god child, Barbara (Julia) Dixon; god grandchild, Julaziana Dickson. A special niece Debra Moore. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
