Frank C. Davis, Jr.

February 10, 1943 — January 3, 2025

Frank C Davis, Jr was born February 10, 1943 of very humble beginnings in Memphis, TN, to the parents of Frank C Davis Sr, and Charity Holmes Davis, to which he received his entrepreneurial spirit in sales.

As a young boy his ability to sell various items from ice cream, newspapers, pantyhose, flowers, Jet magazines, and more were evident of his future to sell “ANYTHING”. Not only was this evident, but he was always ahead of his sales competition. He was able to make top sales for Jet magazine, by knowing everything about the information in the magazine. He would give his niece a copy to read everything and tell him the highlights of the magazine, to relay to his customers when selling the magazine. He sold out every time.

Frank’s life and career was guided by his personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He was a member of Mt Nebo Baptist Church, Nashville, TN where he served as a deacon, and attended Unity Church, Nashville, TN.

He graduated from Douglass High School in Memphis, TN, and attended Tennessee State University, Nashville, TN majoring in engineering, before leaving, to provide for his growing family, working 2-3 jobs.

Frank started his advisory career with Mutual of Omaha Life Insurance in 1969. He started out as agent number 10,001, and within 3 years, his hard work and determination took him to number 3 in the nation. This achievement of his dedication was celebrated with a full-page write-up in Ebony Magazine in December 1972, commemorating his accomplishments. Frank’s motto was to “live with the classes, while working for the masses”

Frank ’s ambition to be in control of his own destiny led him to start Frank C Davis & Associates in 1976 in Nashville, TN. Not only was he an insurance agent/broker, he also sold investment grade diamonds covering the states of Kentucky and Tennessee. At the height of his career, he had 250 diamond representatives, 13 agents selling insurance and made the million dollar roundtable for 15 consecutive years, while simultaneously growing his investment management business.

“Hard by the yard and cinch by the inch”, and his “C and C” Choices and Consequence has been the mantra that has guided his life and career.  Frank believed in a full life, he was an avid traveler and health advocate with plans to work until age 100, or until God called him home.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters. He is survived by children, Frank III (Shenetta), LaQuita, Tonya, TriNikka, Adrian (Tasha), Aubrey (Sarah);  grandchildren Frank “Cedric” IV, Damaris, Jordan, Jazmine, Charity, Adrianna, Christian, Melrose; great granddaughter, Miya. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Frank will be remembered as a trailblazer, a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and a pillar of inspiration to all who knew him.  Please keep the Davis family in your thoughts and prayers.
