Edward Lang, III was born on October 24, 1954 at Meharry Hubbard Hospital in Nashville, TN. He departed from his earthly life and took his place with his heavenly father on Sunday, May 24, 2015. 

Edward was preceded in death by his father, Edward Lang, Jr. and moth­er, Irene Bobbie Peebles Lang. 

Edward and Roni married on September 5, 1998. 

Edward professed his love for Christ at the tender age of 8yrs old and joined Clark Memorial United Methodist Church. He later rededicated his life and became a member of Cornerstone Church in 2009. Edward served as a Greeter there. 

He received his education in the Metropolitan Nashville Public School System in Pearl Elementary, Washington Junior High and graduated from Pearl High School "Class of 1972 " where he received the superlative for "MOST HANDSOME." Upon graduation, he attended Tennessee State University for two years and majored in music. He was very proud to be a part of the Tennessee State University Aristocrat of Bands, playing his alto saxophone. 

Edward was employed by Triumph (Textron) Aero Structures since 1981 and worked diligently until his illness. 

Survived by wife of 16yrs. Roni Gurley Lang; sons, Derek and Erek Lang; 3 stepchildren, Victor (Yolanda) Gurley of Virginia Beach, VA, L'Juan Gurley, and Angela Sales; sisters, Denise Lang and Loretta (Louis III) Lang Mason, brothers, Frederick (Cheryl) Lang and Karl (Sharon) Lang; grandchildren, Derek Lang, Jr., Denesha Lang, Jaylen Lang, 5 step-grand­children, Victor Gurley, Jr. Victorious Gurley, L'Juan Gurley, Jr., Aliya Gurley, and Jayden Gurley, great-grandchildren, Burton Lang, Keygen and Keygana Dillard, best friend, Jimmy Evans, and a host of nephews and nieces.
