Edward D. Dansby

Edward “Eddie” Dansby was born to the late Mary Etta Dobbins on February 5, 1949 in Centerville, Tennessee. In his early adolescence years. He lived with his grandparents (Anna and Ernest Dansby). Edward moved to Nashville, to be with his mother and stepfather (Mary Etta and Eugene Dobbins) at the age of ten.

Edward was united in Holy Matrimony to Maggie L Gooch on November 3,1967. They cherished 58 years of marriage, and four children were born to this union.

Edward professed a hope in Christ at an early age. He attended Centerville Church of God and Sanctified until he moved to Nashville, TN. After the union to Maggie, Edward became a member of Mt.Gilliam Missionary Baptist Church. There he sung with the choir and a musical group named “The Gospel G’s”. He was known for his talented voice and two songs that were requested at every service “Lord, I know you have been so good” and “It’s going to rain” later in life, he and his family became members at Stokers Lane Church of God Sanctified.

Edward graduated from Cameron High School in Nashville, TN in 1967. He was employed with the Louisville and Nashville Railroad Company(L&N) as a railroad worker, welder and crane operator, where he later retired. Edward also worked at Metro Water Company and Marshall Wrecker service. He wore many hats and could do whatever he set out to do in life.

He was preceded in death by parents; Mary Etta and Eugene Dobbins; grandparents, Anna and Ernest Dansby; brothers, Clarence Dobbins, William Dobbins; sister, Lachita Dobbins.

He leaves to cherish his memory of his loving and devoted wife, Maggie L. Dansby; three daughters, Kimberly (Tommy) Lee, Angela Dansby, and Regina Kertchaval; one son, Timothy Dansby, grandchildren, Andrika, Brianna (Ivan) Edwards, Brandi, Taylor, Nicole, Tony, eleven great grandchildren; sister, Lynn Etta Dobbins; brother in-laws, John (Shirley) Gooch, Alfred (Linda) Keel; sister-in-laws; Betty Hobson, Jerri Dobbins, Sue Gooch, daughter in-love, Renee’ Mayes, A host of nieces, nephew, and devoted friends, Dwight (Bubba) Adcock, Billy Gregory, Jackie Biggs, John White and Marshall Boats.
