Charles Madry transitioned on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 after a lengthy illness. He was born December 25, 1946 in Nashville, Tennessee to Deacon J. P. Madry and Mrs. Lillie Brown Madry who precedes him in death. He was the third son of five children born to this union.
Deacon Madry was raised in Nashville, Tennessee and graduated from Pearl High School Class of 1964 and was a loyal member of the Alumni Association. After graduation, Charles attended Tennessee State University (TSU) and later joined the U. S. Marine Corp. He was employed by the Metro Nashville Parks and Recreation System where he held several positions including water safety instructor, teaching adapted aquatics, etc. Also, Charles was employed by the American Red Cross as a fleet coordinator. Upon his honorable discharge from the Marine Corp, he returned to Nashville and realizing that he missed serving the United States as a serviceman, he enlisted in the U. S. Army Reserve where he served until his retirement.
To cherish his memory, he leaves a loving family that consists of his devoted wife, Pat Madry and children, Shantel Madry-Todd, Charles Madry II, and Ebony Madry-Wilson, Savitri Lyons (who precedes him in death) Emmett Nelson Lyons, Jr., and Shondrika Kennedy Granddaughter; also, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.
