Carl T. Harlan

June 18, 1944 — February 9, 2021

Carl L. Harlan was born on June 18, 1944, to the late Henry Harlan, Jr. and Margaret Freeman Harlan. He was the second of three boys born to their union. His older and younger brothers, Harold and Phillip, preceded him in death.

Carl was educated in the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools. For more than 40 years, Carl was a faithful worker at the day program for Rochelle Center. He spoke to everyone and was always willing to assist where needed.

Carl was raised in Watson Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Professing faith in Jesus as his Savior, he attended regularly with his mother, until her transition. He always looked forward to worship and fellowship at The Grove.

Carl is survived by his aunt, May Frances Gooch; nieces; nephews; cousins, Mary, Royetta, Marguarita, and Roy Gooch, Walretta (Lonnie) Chandler, and Nancy (Othe) Kendrick; friend and caregiver, Darryl Greene; co-workers and staff at Rochelle Center; and beloved members of Watson Grove MB Church.
