Carl A. Brown

February 3, 1943 — September 14, 2024

Carl Abraham Brown, Sr., “CB” he was affectionately called, transitioned quietly from this life to be with the LORD on Saturday, September 14, 2024. Carl was the sixth child born into a family of 2 girls and 5 boys.

Carl's early years were on a farm, and he was always curious about the animals. At an early age he was not afraid of the turkeys, and would make the “gobble gobble” sound behind them. He wouldn't have anything to do with the geese.

Carl had a very quiet personality growing up as a child, and as an adult. He was always very dependable. No matter what we were doing he would want to help. Carl dedicated his life to Christ at an early age and remained faithful until the end.

Carl's high school years were spent being a sidekick for his brother, Titus, who preceded him in death, as they did the things that boys do growing up. After graduating from high school, he attended Hampton Junior College, in Ocala, FL for 2 years. He then enlisted in the Army and was soon shipped to Vietnam where he was injured. After a long period of recovery, he again proceeded to complete his education.

Carl enrolled in Tennessee State University where he met the love of his life Carrie Williams. After graduation he worked during research followed by 32 years being an Environmental Engineer for the State of Tennessee Department of Transportation.

Carl A. Brown was married to the late Carrie Williams, who preceded him in death in 2014. They were the proud parents of 2 beautiful children, Carl, Jr. “CJ” and Lauren.

On March 8th, 2000, Carl was blessed to receive a kidney from his younger brother, Hawatha Brown, which gave him a richer quality of life for 24 years. To God be the Glory for all that he has done in this brother's life. The family connected with The Berean Baptist Church where they were faithful in their service to the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Carrie, his son Carl, Jr., his parents, 1 sister: Sernether & 2 brothers: Merritt, Jr., and Titus.

He leaves a vacant spot in the heart his beautiful daughter, Lauren Brown, 3 grandchildren, Donovan Anthony Frazier, Sophia Carrie Elizabeth Frazier and Shaun Michael Laurence Frazier, of Stone Mountain, GA; Sister: Noisettia Delores Brown-Lewis, Ocala, FL: brothers: Hawatha N. Brown (Versie), Brooklyn, NY: David E. Keys, Ocala, FL; sisters-in-law, Eloise (Leonard) Dotson of Syracuse, NY, Vialene Monroe of Ft.
