Beverly was born on February 1, 1956 in Nashville, TN to James and Iris Woodland. She was educated in the Nashville Public Schools system and graduated from North High School. She also attended Fisk University where she received her Bachelor's of Arts degree in English. She worked as a GED instructor and then, later as a Disabilities Examiner for the State of Tennessee Department of Human Services.
Beverly accepted Christ at a young age. She played the piano and organ for Mt Zion beginning in 1969. Beverly had served as an active member of Mt Zion's 50 plus members, mass choir, and Sunday School team.
Beverly was known for her loyalty, friendly attitude, loving spirit, cheerful giving, and sense of humor. She was always looking for ways to help others. She enjoyed singing, laughing, watching movies, traveling, and reading books. Her kindness and generosity will be missed by many.
Beverly leaves to cherish her memories: her niece Tiffany Williams (Anthony Williams), her brother in law Phillip Vann (Fatima Vann), her aunt (Ada Funderburg), her niece Denika Frost, her great-nephew Skylar Harris, her cousin Marsha and Marsha’s daughter (Montana), her cousin Brenda, her cousin Shontay, and a host of many devoted family members and friends.
